My time in Brazil

I was able to connect with @escolagabrielilhabela is a beautiful high school on the island of Ilhabela Brazil. Here I learned a lot from talking with the students and teachers. The students were so caring for each other no matter the stereotype. The clicks often found in the United States school system seem to not exist here, or if they do it didn't matter. The teachers I was able to speak with didn't have any ego or authority. Teachers were there to learn and collaborate with the students. Not to command and be assertive. Positivity overflows throughout the school.

Each student had their bubble to paint in whatever they wanted to. No rules or expectations were given. I often was upset in school due to the art teachers always telling me what to do. I never command these students, I only offered guidance when they asked.

I thank @marinacaamano@casanailhaart @prof_marcelo_joaofor helping make this happen. This experience was so inspiring for me. Everyone and everything I experienced will ripple through me for years to come.
